Mark Meade is AMP'd up!

Youth Council member, Mark Meade, took a field trip with STEPS to AMP Radio Network, where he recorded three separate public service announcements!  The SHS senior wrote spots for highlighting Good Deeds Week and reminding Southington parents how much their kids still need them, even as they grow older.  Not only is Mark a member of Youth Council, he has also been an important part of our Youth Deverlopment Work Group, helping spread the message of supporting youth in our community.  Thanks, Mark - we'll be listening for you at the gas pumps!

Local Merchants Help Prevent Underage Drinking

Over the next few weeks, STEPS Advisory Board Members will be visiting local merchants to distribute counter mats to display in their businesses. The counter mats exhibit the STEPS logo and that the business will not distribute alcohol to teens.  By partnering with STEPS and the Southington Police Department, these community stakeholders are able to play a part in helping prevent underage drinking and making substance abuse prevention a priority in the Southington community!  Thanks to the coalition in Stratford for the GREAT idea!  More »
