STEPS held a Community Forum on Tuesday, October 24, 2010 at Hawks Landing Country Club.  The reason for the event was to release results from the Search Institute's Attitudes and Behavior Survey that was administered to all 7, 9, an 11, grade students in March 2010.  The event also gave participants an opportunity to work together and create action plans to move forward with the STEPS initiative.  Every sector from the community wheel was represented (youth, parents, businesses, law enforcement, faith community, civic groups, youth serving organizations, media, other organizations involved in reducing substances, education, town government, and medical professionals) and the night turned out to be a huge success.  There were over 175 Southington community members that participated and everyone left feeling motivated to create ways to build Developmental Assets with students.  The next step for STEPS is to work with all participants and help them put their ideas into actions.
