Roundtable Discussion Held on Underage Drinking

A roundtable discussion was held at the Southington Library, February 24th 2011  to talk about how to recognize and discourage underage drinking.  The event was co-sponsored by the Southington Library and S.T.E.P.S. and funded by a grant from Substance Abuse Mental Health Services Administration.

 The roundtable began after viewing the short video, “Just Like You – The Jimmy Harper Story” written/produced/directed by J Pants Production a group of former Cheshire High School students guided by Sara Bourdon, Project Coordinator of Cheshire's Underage Drinking Grant.

 A survey of risky behavior by Southington teens was conducted in March of 2010 by STEPS. “The survey shows an alarming trend:
